The Autzen Group is located at the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Copenhagen N, Denmark. Our group is part of the theme in Molecular and Translational Pharmacology. Home to six labs specializing in G protein-coupled receptors, our theme hosts an international and interdisciplinary workplace, offering a vibrant, creative, and innovative research environment.
Our group is focused on characterizing the activation and modulation of membrane proteins involved in taste to delineate their basic function and their therapeutic and diagnostic potential. In extension, we are developing tools for detergent-free membrane protein purification to conserve native protein-lipid interactions.
We utilize mammalian expression systems for protein expression and production and employs single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) in combination with biochemical, biophysical and pharmacological methods for structural and functional characterizations. Our group has access to state-of-the-art cryo-EM equipment at the Core Facility for Integrated Microscopy (CFIM) on campus.
